During the 1980s and 1990s, Reba McEntire was the most successful female country music recording artist, with 23 number one hits. She also released a total of five gold albums, six platinum albums, two double platinum albums, four triple platinums albums, one quadruple platinum album, and a quintuple platinum album. Sales of her recordings during that stage of her career totaled to 33.5 million in a span of 20 years.
